The Content Specialist I participates in the development, production and maintenance of content and related connections for n2y solutions.
This position will largely engage in content development activities for Polaris, a solution for creating compliant, data driven IEPs and enhancing effective collaboration throughout every stage of the IEP process:
planning, writing, executing, and reporting.
The content specialist will also provide project based support to other n2y solutions related to communication and behavior on an as needed basis.
Responsibilities include analysis of current content needs, short and long-term content planning and writing content related to specific areas of educational need (including but not limited to academics, adaptive/functional, social emotional learning, and communication), ensuring accuracy, quality and adherence to guidelines.

Responsibilities:
Plan and write original content and revise current content for improvement to be consumed by students and teachers/service providers to support IEP development and execution as well as communication and behavioral development.
Examples of content include, but are not limited to:
student-facing assessments, scoring/administration guides, IEP goals, instructional resources, social narratives, and a variety of visual supports to support social-emotional decision-making and regulation.
Integrate research and best practices into the content creation process.
Utilize processes and project management systems to move content through creation, review, revision, editing and production to ensure high quality, accurate and error free materials.
Collaborate, communicate effectively, and work closely with the product teams to audit and maintain content alignment to state and national educational standards.
Actively participate and contribute as part of a collaborative team to set short and long-term content goals and strategies and engage in problem-solving around content creation and process improvements.
Meet deadlines, report status of work and participate in weekly content meetings.
Provide input and collaborate within the Polaris team to inform solution vision to develop features and content that meet customer and business needs.
Perform solution testing and quality assurance checks on content as needed.
Partner with the production team to ensure illustrations and graphic representations meeting instructional objectives; support selection of images as needed.
Revise own work and make relevant recommendations and suggestions to current content for accuracy and appropriateness - reviews produced materials for performance, consistency, quality and accurate presentation of content Desired Skills and
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree in Special Education, Psychology or a related field.
4 or more years teaching experience, including using specially designed instruction to meet the needs of unique learners, leveraging assessment data to make instructional decisions, and writing compliant IEPs for students with both academic and non-academic needs (e.
g.
, social/emotional/behavioral, adaptive/functional or communication needs).
Ideal candidates will have teaching experience in an adaptive curriculum classroom setting.
Knowledge and experience with school-related compliance processes and documentation, including Individual Education Programs and Behavior Intervention Plans.
Familiarity with state and national educational standards and ability to create instructional activities that align to standards.
Experience, ease and interest in using a variety of educational technology solutions to streamline and enhance daily practices.
Strong initiative and motivation to complete projects and tasks to meet deadlines.
Planning, organization and time management skills are a must.
Excellent verbal skills and ability to collaborate with others.
Writing concise and high-quality content for a variety of audiences (e.
g.
, students with disabilities, teachers, related service providers and parents) is critical for success in this role.
Travel estimated to be 1-5%.
