We are accepting applications for a Naturalist within the Office of Coastal Management, headquartered at Old Woman Creek National Estuarine Research Reserve, assigned to Erie county.

Greet, welcome, answer questions from the public who visit Old Woman Creek National Estuarine Research Reserve's Visitor Center.
Teach diverse youth about environmental and water quality issues in Lake Erie by building a community committed to clean water and environmental stewardship through experiential learning.
Lead hikes, paddling tours, and nature-based programs for youth groups and the public.
Develop & implement lesson plans on coastal ecosystems, invasive species removal, water quality monitoring and assessment practices, harmful algal blooms, and aquatic species that live along the coast of Lake Erie.
Maintain the visitor center displays and provide care for the live animals that live in the visitor center.

Qualifications 18 months of training or 18 months of experience in preparing and/or presenting educational materials concerning wildlife and plants AND 1 course or 3 months of experience in public relations AND valid driver's license.
OR completion of associate degree core coursework in natural sciences (e.
g.
, biology, botany, zoology) AND valid driver's license.
OR 12 months of experience as Naturalist Aide, 22540 AND valid driver's license.
OR equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above.
